Marina then went on to qualify with the Imperial society of teachers of dancing to teach their Tap, Modern and Contemporary syllabus. Marina likes to keep on top of her education by regularly keeping up to date with the latest syllabus updates and qualifying in new styles to keep the school current and the best it can possibly be. Acrobatic Arts has been a Fantastic and very popular addition to the timetable after Marina Qualified in 2019. Rambert grades has also been hugely successful after Marina qualified in 2022. Marina is a local mum herself and lives in Whitchurch with her husband and two children, who both also love to dance.

Mrs Tahna Eaton

Tahna has been Marina’s right hand woman since the very beginning of the school. Tahna was a keen dancer during her childhood which naturally progressed into working with the school. You will see Tahna throughout the week supporting all the teachers, students and classes. She is always on hand to ensure a smooth running timetable, a huge support to us. Miss Summer Coughtrey

ID Company street dance

Summer joined Marina School of Dance as a student herself in the very beginning with Ballet, Tap and Modern. Even as a very young dancer she showed huge teaching potential, she could easily control a room from as young as 12 years old. Street Dance has always been a strength of hers and so Summer started assisting with those classes and graduated to full teacher from the age of 17. Summer is also a qualified hairdresser and full time carer, she’s a busy lady! You will see Summer teaching Street Dance and Acrobatic Arts in both Whitchurch and Overton…the children absolutely love her! Summer has qualified as an Acrobatic Arts teacher and qualified with ID company in street dance.

Miss Freya Whatley

Freya has been dancing with Marina School of Dance since she was 6 years old alongside being an RAD associate and dancing with The English Youth Ballet. After completing her GCSE’s she studied a full time dance diploma at Andover College expanding her knowledge of dance styles such as hip-hop and commercial. As well as performing in shows and pantomine’s during this time, Freya graduated with a double distinction. Freya has most recently graduated with her teaching qualifications and her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance. Freya has been a wonderful addition to our teaching team.

Our wonderful class assistants include Eleanor, Imogen, and Matilda, all current senior students with us at Marina School of Dance. You will find our assistants at all our younger ballet, Acrobatic Arts and contemporary classes, they make excellent role models as they consistently work hard and achieve excellent results.
